Dr. Richard Shuldiner OD, FAAO

Dr. Richard Shuldiner has been helping those with vision loss from macular degeneration and other eye conditions for over 45 years as a low vision optometrist. Dr. Shuldiner is a Low Vision Diplomate Emeritus in The American Academy of Optometry and is the Founder and President of The International Academy of Low Vision Specialists (www.IALVS.org).

Dr. Shuldiner was Clinical Director of the New York Lighthouse upstate clinics for 12 years before moving to California. There he created a new model for providing low vision care in the private practice setting and has a practice limited to low vision since the year 2000. He also created a five day low vision intensive training course and has trained over 75 private practicing optometrists. (www.LowVisionIntensiveTrainingInfo.com)

Dr. Shuldiner is the Chief Clinical Editor of Managing Low Vision, an e-Newsletter published by Pentavision Media which is received by over 30,000 optometrists each month. He has lectured on low vision in Russia, China, Africa, and Israel and throughout the United States and has been interviewed on various television and radio programs. He has been President of the Rialto Lions Club and The Hudson Valley Holiday Project and was member of the board of directors of the San Bernardino Lighthouse. He is a member of the Eye Health Committee of the American Diabetes Association. Dr. Shuldiner is the author of the soon to be published book “What Do You Mean New Glasses Won’t Help!”.
